Accessibility Statement
Everyone Deserves Access
At ConnectMA, accessibility isn't an afterthought—it's a core value. We believe that connecting people with community resources should never be hindered by ability. Our platform is built from the ground up to be usable by everyone.
Our Commitment
We are committed to providing a digital experience that is accessible to all users, including those with visual, hearing, motor, or cognitive disabilities. This commitment reflects our broader mission: ensuring that all Massachusetts residents can access the support they need.
Why Accessibility Matters to Us
Many people who need community resources the most—seniors, people with disabilities, those recovering from illness—face the greatest barriers to accessing digital information. We're working to change that.
Screen Reader Compatibility
Our entire site works with NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver, and other popular screen readers. We use semantic HTML and ARIA labels throughout.
Full Keyboard Navigation
Every feature on ConnectMA can be accessed without a mouse. Tab through content, use arrow keys in menus, and press Enter to activate buttons.
Clear Visual Design
High contrast colors, readable fonts, and clear visual hierarchy make our content easy to see and understand for users with low vision.
Flexible Text Sizing
Increase text size up to 200% without breaking layouts or losing functionality. Our responsive design adapts to your needs.
Alternative Text
All meaningful images include descriptive alt text. Decorative images are properly marked to not interfere with screen readers.
Multilingual Support
Content is available in 7 languages: English, Spanish, Haitian Creole, Chinese, French, Arabic, and Russian.
